Buskro - NEW Sapphire Inkjet Printer & BK1700 Controller

Inkjet up to 20” of Variable Data at 300 x 660 dpi Resolution with the
New SAPPHIRE Printer and BK1700 Controller

Pickering, Ontario — June 18, 2004 - The Sapphire inkjet printing system and BK1700 controller from Buskro, introduced at Drupa ’04, is capable of printing 2.5” print swaths per print head at a stunning resolution of 300 x 660 dpi. The new Sapphire printer prints fully variable text, graphics, barcodes, and numbers at speeds, dependant upon user-selectable resolution, from 1.0 – 4.0 m/s. Eight Sapphire print heads can be controlled from one BK1700 controller for full coverage up to 20 inches tall.

The BK1700 controller also offers powerful new advantages in variable data printing. Featuring powerful, Windows™ based Compose IQ™ layout and tracking software, the BK1700 accepts any common database format, and tracks data across all print heads simultaneously, ensuring the integrity of each record in the database. Up to 99 fields of customized information per record can be printed in an area up to 20 inches tall. Record reporting is easily managed, and elimination of data buffer to the print heads ensures no records are lost during the job run. In addition, the BK1700 features a fully integrated communication system for each print head that monitors and reports system status and diagnostics for easy print head troubleshooting. With the BK1700 and Compose IQ, print rotated or variable graphics, barcodes, fixed or variable text on the fly using any True-Type font without slowing production speed.
